1. Why do women use pantyliners?

2. What is discharge?

It is normal for every woman to notice some white secretion from her vagina on non-period days. These secretions are known as 'discharge' and the amount varies from woman to woman. In the course of the hormonal cycle, discharge changes a little. In the first two weeks after menstruation discharge is rather clear. Towards the middle of the cycle (about 1-2 weeks after the start of a period) discharge becomes heavier. Until the next menstruation, discharge is of a rather creamy white colour.

If you notice a change in the quality of the natural discharge (e.g. any changes in colour or odour) or if you notice any itching or burning in the intimate area, you should consult a doctor, as this may be an indication for an infection.

3. What is the difference between pantyliners and pads?

Generally pantyliners are shorter, thinner and narrower than pads, and many women feel comfortable to wear them every day.
